Cookie policy

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. This page explains the ones Films Discourse uses and how you can control them. For everything else about your data, see our privacy policy.

Cookies we use

TypeWhat it does
EssentialKeeps you signed in if you have an account, remembers your theme (light or dark) and settings, and protects forms from misuse. The site needs these to work.
AnalyticsGoogle Analytics and our own visit counter help us understand which pages are read and how people find us, so we can improve the site. We see totals, not who you are.
AdvertisingGoogle AdSense may show ads on our content pages. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads, measure them and, where allowed, base them on your interests and earlier visits to this and other websites.

Some pages also store small settings in your browser's local storage instead of cookies, such as your last chosen tab or that you've seen our cookie notice.

Your choices

  • Our cookie notice: on your first visit you can choose Accept all or Reject non-essential. If you reject, analytics and advertising cookies are not used and any ads you see are not personalised; essential cookies stay on. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings (also in the footer of every page).
  • Consent: visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before advertising cookies are used, and can say no.
  • Personalised ads: you can turn off ads based on your interests in Google's ad settings (adssettings.google.com). You will still see ads, but they won't be personalised.
  • Your browser: every browser lets you block or delete cookies. If you block essential cookies, signing in and some settings won't work.
  • Analytics: you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
