Corrections

We want every figure and every sentence on Films Discourse to be right. When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and openly.

How we correct

  • Figures (collections, bookings, dates) are updated as soon as we confirm the right number. Box office pages show when each figure was last updated.
  • Articles with a factual mistake are corrected, and a note at the end says what was changed and when. Small fixes such as spelling or a broken link are made without a note.
  • Live and estimated figures change as the day goes on or as final numbers come in. That is an update, not a correction: these figures are labelled so you know they can change. See our methodology.
  • If a mistake changes what an article is about, we say so clearly at the top of the article.

We don't delete articles to hide mistakes. We take an article down only for legal reasons or if it can't be fixed, and we say why.
